All you need is a pair of black strappy heels, a few silver bracelets, and some dainty stud earrings to complete this sophisticated look.
Add a white blouse, dark-wash fitted jeans, and a navy tote bag to complete this fabulous fall style!
Hide belly bulges with a faux fur vest.
Three reasons to love the soft, fuzzy vests that are everywhere this season, according to stylist Eric Himel, who’s worked with Ali Larter and Rachel Brosnahan: One, they add a touch of glamour to any look-dressy or casual; two, they easily skim over and mask trouble spots without adding visual bulk; and three, says Himel: “The style’s open, mid-thigh design optically elongates the figure for a slender silhouette.” He advises looking for a vest with dark “fur” to trim the body even more.
A burgundy turtleneck sweater, gold dangling earrings, and a gold bangle complete this glamorous look. Top it off with a belt buckle fedora like this one from Lisianthus (buy on Amazon, $17.45) to add flair and protect hair from the fall breeze, and pull on a pair of thigh-high chunky-heeled boots like these from Dream Pairs (buy on Amazon, from $38.99). Your fall style will be on point!
Throw a belted poncho over these, to help legs look thinner in comparison while the small belt reins in fabric. We love this one from Moss Rose (buy on Amazon, $32.99). A white T-shirt, long silver necklace, oversize black sunglasses, and black handbag complete the look.
Whittle your waist with an olive blazer.
Sure, a blazer offers a light layer to help keep you warm during chilly autumn days and nights. “But the classic nipped-in ‘jacket’ is a terrific way to define the waist without being too tight or confining,” says Himel. “And whether worn open or buttoned up, the lapels act like an arrow that points to and showcases the smallest part of the torso.” Tip: Cuffing the sleeves of a blazer draws focus up and in to accentuate the waist even more. And one in a neutral olive color pairs well with closet staples like a white blouse or a pair of dark jeans.
A white button-down shirt, skinny jeans, a brown leather belt, and a silver watch complete this classic look. For footwear, try a pair of strappy ankle sandals like this pair from Madden Girl (buy on Amazon, from $10.99).
Slim your legs with cropped flares.
A more modern take on bell-bottoms, today’s flared jeans bring the hemline up to the ankles-packing the style with a big slenderizing punch. The reason? The cropped length shows off the thinnest section of legs while the fluted hem adds a touch of width at the bottom to balance out fuller hips and thighs, says stylist Anna Katsanis, who’s worked with Jessica Chastain and Sarah Paulson. What else helps: jeans that come in a medium blue wash (it creates a clean line that “lengthens” legs) and a frayed hem (it adds visual interest to further detract from hips and thighs).
Add a striped sweater, cat-eye sunglasses, hoop earrings, stacked bracelets, and leopard print booties, like the Kelte 2 Bootie (Buy on DSW, $49.99), to complete this casual fall style look.
